Tuesday, August 31, 2010

Well, we are officially under a Hurricane Watch. I'm not really too worried about it here at our house, but I thought it would probably be best to load up on the essentials. Ok, so I only bought water, bread, cereal and poptarts for the hurricane and the rest are bribes for the plane ride next week!
I also remembered that I got some girl clothes at Brady's baby shower.....because we didn't know what we were having:o) I pulled them out yesterday and look how cute they are. The only problem is that they are 0-3 months and this baby's due in January. I'll make them work!

This Weekend

at Sunday, August 29, 2010

Sunday, August 29, 2010

I would say we didn't do much this weekend, but we did do a few fun things. Saturday morning we went to a friends' little boy's birthday party at the park. Then I dropped Caleb off at Playdate and I went to a friend's baby shower. Saturday afternoon, after seeing all of the great things my friend got for her baby, I was put into the baby mood and I bought our first GIRL things. I had already picked out girl and boy bedding and lucky for me, I liked the girl's better so I went ahead and bought it. Then I found a cute mobile on amazon that looks like it might match it perfectly...so I had to buy that too:o) Today we went to church and then out to lunch with some friends. We came home to take a nap, but Caleb played in his bed for 2 hours, then decided to fall asleep for an hour. I, did not play in my bed for 2 hours. I just went to sleep for 3 hours. Tomorrow we have a something to go to at church, Tuesday we're meeting another friend for lunch and then we'll see what the rest of the week has in store for us.

Boo Boo

at Wednesday, August 25, 2010

Wednesday, August 25, 2010

Caleb was outside playing today when I heard him whining. I hear this alot, so it didn't cause me to come running. I got myself a drink. Grabbed the phones and the camera and went outside to watch him play in the water. Of course, he wants a drink too and that's when I see that his leg is bleeding (I thought it was the red Gatorade he had just spilled down the front of him). He said, "boo-boo". Umm, yah. Big boo-boo! I guess I'm going to have to start buying stock in Neosporin and Bandaids:o)

I think that Caleb is missing his Aunt Jenny and cousin Adarrah ("Ninny and Adar"). Everytime he picks up a phone he talks to Ninny. I also love how determined he gets trying to find a spot for the phone.

Baby Capps

at Tuesday, August 24, 2010

Everything worked out this morning for my ultrasound. The baby is looking great! He/she weighs 11 oz. and the heartbeat was 155. There was a lot of moving around going on in there, which I already knew since I'm feeling it all the time. The ultrasound tech put a ton of pictures and a few videos on a disc for Shawn and then went ahead and made me a back up...BUT, she said that if we didn't want to know, to not look at it yet. I guess I'll just have to wait to look at the disc until we get the word. As soon as my appointment was over, I went to the post office and overnighted our results. They should have them by noon tomorrow. I think it's safe to say we should know something by the weekend!! :o)

Try Again Tomorrow

at Monday, August 23, 2010

Monday, August 23, 2010

Silly old me! Never would I have thought to have made an appointment at the drop in daycare facility -hence the name drop in daycare - on just another ordinary Monday afternoon. But little did I know, they are remodeling today. The only day. Ironic, huh? So, needless to say, no ultrasound today. But we'll try this again tomorrow morning. This time I called to make sure they were going to be open and went ahead and made an appointment:o)

Today is The Day

at Monday, August 23, 2010

Today is the day when I see our little one.
Will the doctor say, "It's a daughter, It's a son?"
To much of your surprise, Shawn and I won't know.
Our parents have the task to reveal,
Trucks...or...Bows!
The cards are addressed and ready to be sent.
Can we really wait? Please, just one hint!
But if a few more days is all we have to wait.
Then maybe we can decide,
Michael or Kate?
So, for now, waiting is what we'll do.
And if Shawn and I can do it,
then you can too!

New Bern Aquatics Center

Saturday, August 21, 2010

Today we tried out the new pool in New Bern. It's only been open for a couple of months, but I'm sure we'll be going back again. Caleb had a great time and once mom took him down the frog slide (I'm sure that was a sight), he was ready to go. I love that his eyes are closed!

Learning Words and Sounds

at Sunday, August 15, 2010

Sunday, August 15, 2010

We have had a good weekend. Saturday we made lunch for some workers at church, then stopped by a park on the way home. Saturday night I had dinner with the other women in our squadron for what they call the Halfway Dinner. Although, may I note, we are well over halfway which makes me that much happier! (I didn't take my camera because the flash is broken and I'm just waiting for the new one I am going to buy to come it, so you'll just have to wait for pictures until someone else sends them to me.) Today, we went to church, out to lunch with some friends and then we came home and all of us took a three hour nap!! We must have needed it. There's a berry cobbler in the oven - I'm in this baking mood for some reason - and we have toys and tents to play with. Here's a couple of videos to show you what Caleb is learning.

Playing Outside Without Mom

at Friday, August 13, 2010

Friday, August 13, 2010

My new three favorite words....Go Play Outside!
I told Caleb to go play outside so I could make dinner and he did it!! I turned on the sprinkler and left him and Wrigley to the backyard. I could get used to this!

Serious Allergy Problem

at Thursday, August 12, 2010

Thursday, August 12, 2010

I went to the allergy specialist awhile back and found out I was seriously allergic to dust mites. (That's what they said). Anyway, now when I clean the house, I become wheezy, sneezy, itchy and runny for about a week - four out of the 7 dwarfs, not too shabby:o) So, I either look like this because I got out my fall decorations yesterday or because we've been digging in that bottomless pit of a toybox to find toys we haven't played with in ages. Either way, I feel as bad as I look - minus the smile.

Eye La Lee

Sunday, August 8, 2010

I've been trying to get Caleb to say I Love You, but up until now, he just wouldn't say it.

Finally, yesterday he started to say it.

It sounds a little more like "eye-la-lee", but it's so cute!

Fish!

at Tuesday, August 03, 2010

Tuesday, August 3, 2010

Today, Caleb and I went to the aquarium out at the beach. While this aquarium is perfect for Caleb's age, being able to walk through it in 15 minutes makes me think that driving 40 minutes out there, might not be worth it. But then I remember we could be playing with the same toys at our house and I realize it's totally worth it! For some reason, Caleb was so excited to see the fish (or "seesh" as he calls them), but wouldn't move away from my leg to exam them further. Lucky for us we were there in time to see the Live Dive Show. Three scuba divers get in the giant fish tank and talk to us about the fish and sharks that are in there. Caleb was a little whiny after being there for 1 and a half hours, so we walked out to the car, where he decided he wasn't really ready to go and started screaming, trying to pull his hand out of mine, falling backward and just sitting in the parking lot. This age is so much fun:o)!!

Pictures of Shawn

Shawn sent us some pictures this morning, which is always a treat for us. We thought we'd share them with all of you. We are just over our halfway mark and are looking forward to his homecoming...even though we still have a few months!

1st Belly Picture

at Sunday, August 01, 2010

Sunday, August 1, 2010

Today is the first of August and the start of my 16th week. What better way to start this month than with the first "official" belly picture.

I am feeling pretty good. I'm tired at the end of the day, but who wouldn't be when you're chasing a toddler around all day. According to my scale, I still haven't gained any weight. That too could be attibuted to chasing Caleb around all day and quite possibly because I'm not sitting at a desk for 8 hours and eating fast food for lunch. Maybe this time I won't gain 40 pounds. Although, now that I see these jeans, they are not doing anything for my behind:o)
