Legoland

First thing Monday morning, we dropped Wrigley off and then headed to Legoland. It's just over 2 hours away and the drive was actually pretty nice.
Our first day was overcast and cold (60 degrees is cold in CA).

Our first ride was on a little boat through fairy tale stories.

The fact that all of these statues are made out of Legos, is amazing!

 Heartlake City!
 Riding the carousel.
This ride was for kids only.  We had to lie to say that Amelia was 6 so she could ride it. (It was only a few days away, so we thought it was ok.  She, however, stuttered and looked at us when the lady asked her how old she was.  It was pretty funny to watch her figure out how to lie.  Terrible parents!)

We were told to get Granny's Apple Fries in Castle Hill, so we stopped there before riding any other rides.  They are sliced Granny Smith apples, fried, dipped in cinnamon and sugar and served with a side of vanilla whipped cream.

We rode The Dragon roller coaster, which was pretty fun.

Then we waited in line (for way too long) for this ride that flips you all around and upside down, if you're old enough.
After that, we walked through Mini USA.
 Boston.

 Washington, D.C.

 San Francisco.
 New Orleans.
 The Guggenheim Museum.
 New York City.
We learned on a boat ride the next day that New York was built with 8 million Legos!

They even had the two reflecting pools.
 Las Vegas.
The Christmas tree looked pretty cool all lit up!
The next day was sunnier and warmer.

 Their faces are all Legos!

Star Wars Land was pretty awesome too!

This was the Legoland Resort, which I wish we would have stayed in, but it was just too expensive.
While Legoland was pretty cool, I think we were hoping for another Disney World.  If you love Legos, this is the place for you! But if you are looking for lots of fun rides, this might not be it.  For those of you in the Midwest, we would say it was even smaller than Kings Island.  The lines were long and some of the rides kept breaking throughout the day and we felt that a lot of the rides were for smaller kids.  So, even though we probably won't go back again, we definitely had fun and are glad we went!
