Pumpkin Patch

Amelia's class had a field trip to the pumpkin patch today.  It was to the same U-Pick farm we've been too before, Underwood Family Farm.
They got a tractor ride.
Amelia with her best friend, Natalie.
Time to pick a baby pumpkin.
She walked right over to the one and picked it up, never even looking at any of the other ones.

There were about a bazillion kids there today!  A lot! I think there were at least 25 school buses in the parking lot.
 Walking through the pumpkin house.
 Amelia and Natalie again.
 Walking through the cornstalk maze.

The morning started out cool, but by the time we left, it was already 81 degrees.  I think all of the kids had a great time!

El Matador State Beach

Malibu is pretty magical.  I can see why stars want to live here.  Drew found us a new beach to check out, so we decided to go at sunset.  El Matador State Beach is only 30 minutes from our house!
As you know, my (our) love of the mountains is pretty great.  And I love photos and commercials of big rock beaches….which I thought were only in northern California.  But, we parked, walked down the dirt path, around a bend and saw this…..

I had just found my new favorite place!  It was beautiful!
The kids loved this place so much too!
There were probably 5 weddings and bikini photo shoot while we were there too.

There were lots of tide pools here too and we were able to see some pretty cool sea creatures.
Psalm 104:24-25
How many are your works, LORD!  In wisdom you made them all; the earth is full of your creatures.  There is the sea, vast and spacious, teeming with creatures beyond number - living things both large and small.

And now for the sunset photos….
Going….
 Going….
 Gone.

Job 12:7-10
But ask the animals, and they will teach you, or the birds of the sky, and they will tell you; or speak to the earth, and it will teach you, or let the fish of the sea inform you.  Which of all these does not know that the hand of the LORD has done this?  In his hands is the life of every creature and the breath of all mankind.

On Sunday, we visited the USS Midway Museum In San Diego.
This ship was commissioned one week after the end of WWII and was the largest ship in the world until 1955.  It was decommissioned in 1992.  It opened as a museum in 2004.
 Trying out the ejection seat.

 Flying a helicopter.
 Taking a short nap.
 Trying to lift the chain.
 In the command center.

Of course, look who's the CO.
Giving a little love to VMAQ-2.

 We found a Prowler!
And not just any old Prowler.  The very first Prowler Shawn ever flew in!

Another great day in San Diego!
