Today I am 15 Months Old!!

I say mommy, daddy, Wrigley, baby, drink, hi, bye-bye.
I am still not walking, but will push my walker around everywhere and hold on your hand to walk.  (I also like to walk on my knees).
I love to brush my teeth.
I love to climb the stairs.
I would rather drink out of a straw then out of a sippy cup.
I love to swing and go down slides.
When I say I don't want something, I mean it.
I have a love/hate relationship with Caleb:o)
I give lots of kisses.
I can't wait to see how I grown in the next few months!

15 Month Check Up

at Wednesday, March 28, 2012

Wednesday, March 28, 2012

Today we had this sweet girl's 15 month check up (for "sweet girl" see photo above).  Now, we were just at urgent care on Friday and they said she weighed 18.5 lbs.  But her doctor assured me today that their scales are each different and that that one lied.  Boo:o(  She is weighing in at 17.74 lbs. today.  BUT (and that's a huge BUT), she grew 7 cm and is now 28.82 inches tall and her head circumference is 17.36 inches.  What I conclude from this is that she's going to just be tall and skinny.  A model maybe.
Although the doctor and I are are still concerned about her weight gain, she is physically growing well and developmentally she is right on track.  He said that if she was lacking in these two area also, then he would be more concerned.  We agreed to just wait until her 18 month check up and reevaluate her.  In the meantime, we'll just keep pushing the high calorie foods and PediaSure drinks.
Amelia's just going to be small.
And most people who are small tend to have a little more fight in them.
(See photo below)
She didn't get him on her first pass, but managed to land some teeth marks on her second try.  You would have thought Caleb was dying by the way he was screaming.  I comforted him (and laughed a little behind his back) and then punished Amelia by saying "bad, bad, bad" :o)

Bitty

Monday, March 26, 2012

Bitty-bitty had an eventful weekend.  I'm going to make a long story short and just say that Amelia was sick....again.  We ventured to urgent care when my thermometer kept giving me 104.3 readings.  When we arrived there, their forehead thermometer said 106.5 and her rectal temperature was 105.2.  They gave her Motrin to bring her temp down and it was 102 after an hour (yes, of sitting in the waiting room) and by the time we left it felt like she was almost back to normal.  They thought she might have a urinary tract infection because everything else looked good.  They gave us some antibiotics to take until we had the results back and I received word this morning, that those tests came back negative, so it must have just been a virus.
After a long, long weekend, and no temperature at all yesterday, she was able to go to school today.  (YEAH!!!!)  Dad left this  morning for a few days in California and Jenny, Adarrah and Cory will be here this weekend!  I am praying everyone is better by the time they get here.

(Don't you just love Caleb's face:o)

Feeding The Birds

at Thursday, March 22, 2012

Thursday, March 22, 2012

What's more fun than throwing the old bread in the trash??
Taking it to City Beach and feeding the birds!!
These birds where a little to close for comfort when we first got out there.  It probably looked a lot like a scene from The Birds, but I got some cool photos and we had fun doing it.  I think the sun deceived us a bit.  When we got to the beach, we realized that even though the sun was out, it was bitterly cold.  We threw the birds our bread (we had hoped to play on the beach for awhile) and then we jumped back in the car to head home and get warm.

Curlers

Tuesday, March 20, 2012

I am trying my hardest NOT to cut this girls bangs.  I want her to be a little girl with long, flowing locks that I can braid or put into pigtails.  But you all have seen her stringy bangs, that really just fall straight down in front of her eyes.   I thought maybe curling them with a tiny curling iron would help, but then I thought about how much she moves when I'm trying to pull her hair up on top of her head and I was afraid I'd just  burn her.
So, this is what I decided to go with.
Grandma curlers!

I put them in after her bath, thinking wet hair would hold better.  But this baby fine, straight and stringy hair, just wouldn't have it.  I pulled them out before bed and there was ALOT of curl in her hair, but by the time she got up the next morning, it was back to it's old self.  I'll try again soon:o)

Kiddos

Amelia's new thing is this face and playing on the chairs.   This face is usually followed by huge grins because we always laugh at her.

 Look at me!!

Followed by another one of her little faces:o)

Playing so nicely together....notice Amelia's standing on her own more and more.

Today was gorgeous!  I hate to put Caleb down for a nap when the weather's this nice.  So, we played outside until dad had to go to work.

All of a sudden he says he has to go potty and I turn around and he started taking off his pants.  He then said he's going to find some grass, but Shawn tells him to use the tree:o)  He must have done that before, because he's never done it with me.

Lollipop mustache and snot running down his nose.

Monday, Monday

Monday, March 12, 2012

So, this is my first post from our new computer.  We finally gave in and bought a Mac and I think we love it!  It's still going to take a little getting used to, but it's going to be worth it.
Amelia's watching Daddy play outside (and by play I mean, pick up sticks and re-cover the grill).

Caleb went to school with a runny nose, but around here, that's pretty typical.  But after school he was saying he was freezing and didn't feel good.  We just put him to bed with a 102.2 temperature.  What do we have to do around here to get everyone well?!  This is pretty much what he did the rest of the afternoon.

Shawn got his tent and backpack today....yippee:o)  So of course, he had to get them all out to play with.  That got Caleb off the couch for about 10 minutes.
Amelia loved playing with the sleeping bag and kept wanting to crawl in and out of it.

We got to do Apple's version of Skype, which is called FaceTime with Cody and Daphne and again, we were impressed.  Perfect picture and no dropped calls.  Amelia was making all sorts of faces while we were waiting to chat with them.  It was hilarious!

I haven't added a video in awhile, so here's a video of Amelia giving daddy kisses.

My hair is almost long enough for pigtails.
Why do pigtails make me look so much older?
Mom says she loves them:o)

Hiking To The Beach

at Friday, March 09, 2012

Friday, March 9, 2012

Yesterday Shawn called around 2 saying he was coming and let's get out to do something.  We had just gotten home from school and it was their naptime, but we decided to just go with it and see what happened.  We hadn't hiked the north side of Deception Pass before, so that's where we went.  Caleb did awesome as usual!  This kid amazes me when we get outdoors.  It was only 46 degrees out, but the sun was shining and made for the perfect afternoon.  Shawn played with the camera and all of it's fun settings most of the time and there were actually alot of cool photos that came out of it.  The only scare we had was at the beginning of the hike.  Amelia started breathing really funny.  We stopped and Shawn checked on her to make sure she was ok.  She smiled and giggled, so we continued on.  She started doing it again, so again we stopped to make sure we didn't have the backpack too tight making it hard for her to breath.  Shawn got her out and carried her for a bit and she seemed fine, but did it again while smiling.  We realized she was just mimicking her mother sighing and breathing heavy since I am so out of shape.  How funny is that?!  It was another great day of hiking and throwing rocks at the beach.
