While Amelia was busy doing this...

Caleb was out doing this.

And don't forget Wrigley.

In case any of you were wondering whether or not Amelia's getting enough to eat...maybe these rolls will make you feel better.

Hi, Mom!

I'm gonna smile...

If this doesn't make you smile...

Then maybe these photos will.

I love that I can see what's going while sitting in my seat.....but holding my head up that long makes me tired.

Long Weekend

at Monday, February 21, 2011

Monday, February 21, 2011

The weather's been perfect for a long weekend. Friday, Caleb, Amelia and I grabbed lunch and headed downtown to play in the park. We picked dad up from the airport and played in the backyard until the sun set. Before we left to get Shawn our realtor called and said they wanted to show our house Saturday afternoon. How do you not get excited about that?! It's only been on the market for a week, so were happy. We spent most of Satuday straightening and vacuuming and then headed out before they got there. Sunday we went to church and then Shawn kicked me out. He told me I was to feed Amelia and then not come back until she needed to eat again:o) Well, you didn't have to tell me twice! Although I only went grocery shopping (and to TJMaxx for about 15 minutes), it was so nice to be alone!! When I got back we went for a hike and wore ourselves out. Today is supposed to be even nicer than yesterday so, I'm sure we'll be outside most of the today too.
Feeding the ducks at the park.

Catching a few rays.

Playing in the trees.

They have these bears all over dowtown and they are all different. Caleb gets so excited when we go down there because he wants to find them all.

Amelia's first time wearing a dress (and pants because it's too cold for a dress:o)

Amelia's first purse and diamond ring:o)

She wore another dress (and pants) to church.

Caleb enjoyed cupcakeS - plural - in honor of Pap and Aunt Daphne's birthday. That might have been my excuse for wanting to make cake!

Caleb started out in the backpack.

And probably walked a mile or more on the way back.

Amelia enjoyed the outdoors too.

Dress Up

at Friday, February 18, 2011

Friday, February 18, 2011

Mornings are for playing dress up. At least for little girls, they are. Boys, you just throw on play pants and a shirt with pizza stains because you know they're just going to get dirty again anyway. But with girls (I'm finding), you get to try on cute, frilly, lacey, satiny things. And try out hairbows and barrettes and shoes to match. Lucky for us, she is starting to fit into a few 0-3 months things. I'm sure as she gets older and can pick out her own clothes (to follow Caleb around and get dirty too), she'll pick something else. But until then, I get to dress her in whatever I think is "cute"!
So this morning we decided to try out a little blue polka dot number, with just the right amount of ruffles and some little shoes to complete the outfit. We'll see how long it takes her to spit up on it:o)
I am not going to open my eyes for you, Mom!

No seriously! Get that thing outta my face.

Ok fine, I'll let you have your fun.

Do my eyes match this outfit?

What about now?

Decisions, Decisions

So little and already so many decisions.
Do I wear a hairbow?
Do I wear a barrette?
Or do I wear a hat?

Just Another Day

Wednesday, February 16, 2011

We stayed in today and got some things done around the house. I got another run in wishile the kids were sleeping. (Yes, that means I have been trying to run...when I get a free minute:o) And when Caleb and Amelia woke up, there were Valentine's Day presents for them from Grandma and Papaw. More hairbows and clothes for Little Missy and some random snacks (which he could care less about) and a Thomas Pez dispenser!!! You don't realize how bad that Pez candy is when you're young...but let me tell you, they're not that great. Oh and I got a secret stash of chocolate. I'd better hide that from Caleb and eat it before Shawn gets back. I'm sure I'll have no trouble doing that. I'll try to get another run in tomorrow so I won't feel bad about it:o)

Thanks Grandma and Papaw!

Caleb usually wakes up in the morning and wants to read his books. This morning he decided to bring them into our room and read Amelia a few of his favorites.

Friday At The Capps House

at Friday, February 11, 2011

Friday, February 11, 2011

Just another day at the Capps house. I've found that Curious George is a lifesaver. He will actually sit and watch the whole movie.
His new place to play is in Wrigley's cage.

I caught another smile!
Does this look like one of those parachute suits you wear when jumping off a cliff?
I'm thinking 0-3 month stuff is still too big...seeing as this is where her feet stop...
...And how wide it is on her little body.

In His Hands

If ever you want to clean your house - and I mean really clean your house - then put your house up for sale. For the last couple of weeks we have been thowing away, donating, moving things to storage, scrubbing, painting, vacuuming, Magic Eraser-ing, and staging our house in order to get ready to put it on the market. Well, today is that day. We are officially MLS # 11-668 . The weight of putting our house up for sale in this market, is daunting. But for me, a huge weight has been lifted off my shoulders just by having that sign in our yard. That means the major cleaning has been finished, all of the numbers have been run, we've met with our realtor and it is officially up for sale. It is what it is. That is until someone decides to put in an offer and we have to start negotiations (which we're anticipating). It's just a waiting game now. We hope that we won't be waiting too long, but the market has thown this house-selling-thing for a loop.
Throughout our married life we have learned what it is to trust God. First, just by being in the military. We move regularly, as you know. Setting up a move, traveling there, finding a new place to live, finding new friends and church, all takes a lot of faith in Him. Deciding to get pregnant again after losing Brady took a huge amount of faith in His plan, not only for our lives, but for our unborn childs' life. Then in buying our first house and enduring three deployements. Having a baby without Shawn here took a lot of trust on my part. And while we have seen His hands work in all of these major events in our lives, we know He's in the small day to day details also.
Our pastor has spoken many times about managing the outcomes of our lives. We can try to manipulate the outcome of all the events in our lives, but that will only drive us crazy. Only HE knows the way things are going to work out. And with that, we have abandoned the selling of our house and left it in His hands. That's all we know to do. We know we will still stress and worry about it. But we are fully placing our trust in His plan for us and for the sale of our house. Whether that means we sell it (and that's our prayer!) or whether that means we keep this house and come back to it when that time comes. It's in His hands!
Jeremiah 29:11 "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future."
Philippians 4:6 "Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situtation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgivng, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."
