Granny and Papaw came to visit us this past week and just left this morning. We are so glad they were able to come out again! I would like to say it was a great week, but when you throw in a 2 year old who wants to throw nonstop tantrums, scream and cry for three (or more) hours each night, a stomach bug (that Caleb got) that lasted most of the week and rainy weather, well....I'll just say again, we are so glad they came to visit us!
We did a little hiking. Caleb is always the leader and is still hiking like a pro.
Amelia, however, was not into it this day, screamed bloody murder for about 1/4 of mile, so Shawn took her back to the car, so we let our sweet angel get some rest.
Do you see the coyote on the left side of the trail in the picture below? We think he was trying to make sure Amelia wasn't an animal in distress that he could come and eat.
Shawn met us on our way back and Amelia was asleep on his shoulder.
Cap Sante overlooking Anacortes.
Showing off his muscles.
Checking out the huge ship.
After our little hike and some lunch, we headed to Camping World to get some of the essential items we needed for our camper. Then we came back and started setting everything up for our driveway campout. Caleb was supervising, of course.
Grandma bought the kids yard darts, so they played a little of that.
Caleb pouting...I'm not sure why.
Shawn making sure he knows how to hook everything up.
We grilled out some burgers and ate our dinner inside.
Getting warm by the fire. Everyone except Amelia and I spent the night in the camper. We thought Granny might have poisoned Caleb in the middle of the night by giving him a drink of water out of the faucet (Papaw thought it might still have antifreeze in it), but one quick call to Camping World, eased our fears:o)
Amelia got a new bike.
On Monday, we headed to Orcas Island. We had never been there before and have heard good things about it. I think we'll definitely go out there again when the weather is nicer. There's a very cool hike to Mount Constitution.
We happened upon this little church with a labyrinth in the yard.
Caleb lead them through the maze.
On Tuesday, we checked out a campground at the south end of the island, but everything was full for this coming weekend. We got us a great spot at Deception Pass, though, and are excited to take the camper out for the first time.
Thanks for coming to spend time with us, Granny and Papaw!! We hope to see you again soon!
