Friday, oh, Friday

Two seconds before we were to walk out the door, Caleb came running into the bathroom panicking and crying (as I was helping Amelia go potty).  He was holding his neck saying, "There's something in my throat!  There's something in my throat!  There's a toy in my throat!"  I said, "WHAT??!!!"  Then he informed me that he swallowed a Lego.  I assumed he was fine since he was crying and breathing, but he kept saying it was stuck in this throat, so off to Urgent Care we went.  Not how I planned to spend our Friday, but what are you going do.
Two x-rays and an hour and a half later, the doctor informed me it wasn't showing up in his lungs, so he probably just swallowed it.
Then he informed Caleb he would just poop it out and not to try to get it:o)
I wasn't about to let that spoil our day.  Off the island we went.  We stopped at a couple of stores and then went to see Despicable Me 2.  They both sat and watched the entire movie, thanks to the Kid's Pack!

I never thought an almost 5 year old would still be putting toys in his mouth,  but I think Caleb learned his lesson.....I hope!

Train Trip to Vancouver, B.C.

On Saturday, we headed to Bellingham to catch the train to Canada.
Caleb had been looking forward to this for a very long time!

Eating a snack from the Snack Car.
 Train station in Vancouver.
Walking over the Granville Street Bridge.
Look at how big their city is!
Looking down at the Granville Island Public Market.  This was a very cool place and we could have walked around all the shops for an entire day.

We just happened to be there for their Wooden Boat Festival.

After walking around for awhile and getting some ice cream, we hopped aboard the AquaBus for a little water tour.
I thought this building was really cool!!
We swam at the hotel later that night and the next morning we headed for historic Gastown.  First, we stopped by the cruise ship dock.

This is an old steam clock that plays a song every 15 minutes.
 Water Street in Gastown.
 Very cool building.
 Gassy Jack statue.
 Then we headed into Chinatown.

After another full morning of walking, we headed to a park that sat next to the Science Center.

Back at the train station waiting to get back on.

Caleb got to be a Junior Conductor.
I love that this guy played along:o)
Eating more snacks from the Snack Car.

 Leaving Canada behind.

Double rainbows welcomed us back into Washington.
We had a great week with The Grannies and are so glad they came to visit!  We can't wait to see you all again at Christmas!

Yesterday we got in a little movie watching time...
...a little dining room table tent time...
 ...a little craft time...

 ..and a little hiking.

After breakfast today, we took in another very easy walk at Cornet Bay's, Hoypus Point.  We got another great view of the Deception Pass Bridge.

Amelia turned into our little photographer and Caleb, very graciously, posed for her many times.

We found a great spot to take a rest and eat a little snack.
Then we found some great walking sticks to help us make our way back.

Tomorrow we hop the train to Vancouver, B.C.!
