Sickly

And…... another one bites the dust.
Caleb woke up at 5:45 complaining of a stomachache.  He didn't have a fever and nothing else hurt, but he didn't want any breakfast. So, I did what any good mother would do…..I sent him to school.  I did however send a heads up to his teacher.
Ten minutes before school started, she sent me a text telling me to come and get him because he was throwing up.
Poor kid.
I guess we'll take Amelia to school and relax.

Weekend Fun

Monday, January 26, 2015

Even though our fun plans for Friday were cancelled , due to sickness, we still made the most of it by making individual pizzas...
…and fighting…and dancing (some of you were lucky enough to get a couple of really funny videos of Caleb dancing).

Saturday morning we headed to another one of Caleb's basketball games.  He was pretty excited running onto the court:o)

 I'm open!!
 No really, I'm open!!
He made his first basket that day too!
Sunday was actually the first really nice day since we've been sick…so we decided to skip church and head to to Ft. Macon State Park, which just happens to be at the beach.

 Checking out the big guns.
 Not quite a proper salute.

Amelia opted for kissing my cheek instead of smiling for the camera.
 Peeking through a hole.
After the fort, we headed out to the beach for a bit.  It was a little cooler out there, so we didn't stay long.

I told him he this was his mermaid pose:o)

After the beach, we headed to Olive Garden for lunch, in which I just realized this morning, is where I left my debit card ---- 45 minutes (one way) away!  Looking forward to that drive after I pick up Amelia this afternoon.

A Whole Lotta Nothin'

Where have we been?
I start to feel like something's wrong when I don't have anything updated on the blog for a week….or two.
Not a whole lot has been going on here.  Caleb had basketball last Saturday and Amelia and I had girly things planned for Sunday.  I decided to get sick Sunday, with a fever and slept for 2 days, so no girl fun, or family fun.  Thankfully, Shawn was home since it was a long weekend and was able to take care of the kids.  (And I guess I should be glad I slept through the Colts game:o) I'm still not 100%, but better.  Amelia's been sick for the last two days and I kept her home from school today.  Against my better judgement, I took her to the doctor today.  (Because it usually turns out to be nothing and we waste an hour or more waiting for the doctor to tell us that).  But, Amelia actually has the upper respiratory virus that seems to be going around and double ear infection.  Hopefully the fever will go away so she can go back to school Monday.  We had fun things planned for this weekend also, but I guess we'll stick with hanging around the house and getting better.
The missions trip is just over 2 weeks away and I've been trying to sit out the things I think I need to take.  I've also been getting all of our "household items" in order for Shawn.  I realized that if, heaven forbid, something terrible ever happened to me, I take care of everything here.  The kids' schedules, finances, bills, Wrigley, etc.  I saw something on Facebook awhile back about a family binder with all of our information in it in case the other ever needed it.  So, I've been busy putting that together too.
We've also been busy looking at Disney rides on youtube and watching the Disney video we received in the mail this week.  We are getting excited about our trip we plan on taking - and booking just as soon as Shawn's leave gets approved!
That's all that's going on here in NC.

Basketball

Saturday, January 10, 2015

Today was Caleb's first basketball game of the season.
It was just as funny as his soccer games were.  Lots of double dribbles, running with the ball, just running with it playing keep away, shooting at the wrong basket, etc.
He wanted to wear his jersey without a shirt underneath:o)

 He shoots…..
…..he almost scored.  It bounced off the rim.  Maybe next time.
Next year Amelia will be able to be a cheerleader if she wants too.  I just had to post this picture of that little girl boycotting cheering. She threw her pom poms down, turned around and crossed her arms.  She was not having it.  It was pretty funny!
On another note, my Mexico trip is one month away!  I'm really looking forward to it.  Our church put together these 60 Days of Prayer sheets.  We leave on February 10 around 8am (from New Bern, then we drive to Raleigh to catch our plane to Cancun, then we drive from Cancun to Paamul).  We will return late on February 18th.  We have a meeting after church tomorrow, so hopefully I'll learn a little more.  I still don't completely know what to expect and maybe I won't really know until we get there.  I thought I'd share with you all so that you can be in prayer for our team too.

"4" and New Year's Eve

at Thursday, January 08, 2015

Thursday, January 8, 2015

We spent Amelia's 4th birthday driving home from the cabin, so it wasn't much of a celebration.  BUT, when we pulled up to the house, this big sign and balloon (and present) were waiting on her from our friends, The Plot's!  What a sweet surprise!
She's still sassy and spunky and a princess and a tomboy and we love her so much!  She tries my patience most days, but I love her personality and sweet smile and tiny kisses!  She loves ALL things Frozen, or Elsa, and baby dolls and tea parties, but also wants to be doing anything Caleb and Daddy are doing too.
We can't wait to see what this year has in store for you, Amelia!
New Year's Eve was spent alone, which was pretty nice.  We had lasagna and chocolate mouse pie.  We even had some sparkling fruit juice, which Amelia loved and Caleb hated.  We had New Year's hats and noise makers and decided to let them try and stay up.

They held up for longer than I had expected, watching nature shows on Animal Planet on a pallet on the floor….but, they couldn't make it until midnight.  Maybe next year:o)

2nd Annual Capps Christmas Cabin

at Saturday, January 03, 2015

Saturday, January 3, 2015

This year we headed to Nancy, KY for our newest Capps tradition. Our cabin overlooked the Cumberland River.  The weather on our first day was awesome and we were able to be outside pretty much the entire day.

Even though all of the sticks and wood were wet, they were able to get a fire going.
Jennifer and Cory got Shawn a pocket chainsaw, that actually worked really well!
Caleb's as happy as he can be when he's in the woods!
Bitty looked like me, walking around with her 2 cameras getting lots of photos….that Zeke ended up erasing:o)
We took a walk down to the beach and threw some rocks for a while.
 Uncle Cody and Amelia.

Amelia got her fingernails and toenails painted by Aunt Holly.
Playing in the woods some more.
Uncle Drew got them zoned out relaxed in front of cartoons.
We got in some game time too.
All of us relaxing at the end of the day.
 Cousin photos!

As usual, we had a great time…had everyone been healthy, I think we would have had an even better time.
We can't wait to see where we go next year!
