Gettin' Big

This silly rascal has pretty much begun potty training herself.
And while I'm not really pushing it (mostly because of the traumatic potty training experience we had with Caleb....let's not bring it back up!), she continues to surprise me.
She has not pooped in her diaper in a week and a half and she is starting to tell me when she needs to go pee!

This is her eating her potty reward.
(Still eating on all that Easter candy we have:o)

Sunshine!!!

Monday, April 22, 2013

We were somewhat deceived by the sun streaming in our windows this morning.  The weather man said it was supposed to be 54 today, but let me tell ya, it was freezing out there!  I thought about hopping on the ferry to Port Townsend (just across the water here), but am glad we opted to just play outside close to home.
Oh, how those mountains are calling my name, though!

Amelia wouldn't really leave my side, since it was so cold.
So, we scarfed down the cookies we brought, packed up and decided to look for somewhere a little warmer.
On the way back up the hill from the beach, I noticed this small patch of yellow flowers and just had to stop for a few pictures.

We stopped at the beach by our house for a bit.  It was not as windy here and we got to watch the Prowlers fly around for awhile, but it was still a little to chilly and nap time was fast approaching.
My magnets came today!!  It's time to get these kids to work:o)

Friday Silliness

Caleb comes to me and says, "Mom, do I look pretty?"
This is a face we get on a regular basis.
A little tea time and writing notes.
 Umm, yah.
 Happy face...
 Mean face.
 Happy face...
 Mean face:o)
Mom and dad get to go on date tonight and have a little alone time away from these silly kids!

Amelia didn't want to leave Russ inside when it was so nice out.

 Hungry hummingbird.

 And....he's off!

Chores

at Monday, April 15, 2013

Monday, April 15, 2013

My kids do have to do things around the house, but with a little inspiration from Etsy (I thought I could  make this cheaper and cuter:o), I made up an "official" chore board for them to do everyday.  This is about as crafty as I get, so I will be ordering the chore magnets off the Etsy website.  I'm hoping this will motivate them to do things on their own, without nagging from me.  I'll let you know how it goes:o)

Nutritious Breakfast

at Friday, April 12, 2013

Friday, April 12, 2013

Yesterday, I promised Caleb we'd go out for donuts this morning.
But when I woke up, I really didn't feel like getting ready, getting two kids ready, getting everyone strapped into the car and driving there.  So, I opted for making them instead!
(Fast and easy recipe via Pinterest:o)
I knew there would be no way of getting out of icing and sprinkles and why would you want to, really!?
Amelia, do not touch it to the donut!!
What's the first thing she does?  Smashes the whole top of the sprinkles into the chocolate.
They must be pretty good....at least the icing and sprinkles, anyway.
And that's how we do breakfast around the Capps house!

Mini Kite Flyin'

at Wednesday, April 10, 2013

Wednesday, April 10, 2013

Caleb and Amelia got these miniature kites (4" and 5") from Granny and Papaw for Easter and today was the first windy day we've had.  So we tried them out!  Surprisingly, they flew pretty well.  (Not so much for Amelia...she can't lift her arm up that high:o)

Gotta watch out in front of you, Caleb...hahaha!

Spring Break

at Friday, April 05, 2013

Friday, April 5, 2013

On Wednesday, Caleb, Amelia and I set out for a little Spring Break adventure.  First, we headed to the Imagine Children's Museum in Everett.  We had never been here before, but heard great things about it.  This place was pretty awesome!  I only wish it was closer to us so we could go more often.

The water room was by far their favorite place!  We spent most of our time there....trying not to, but inevitably, getting soaking wet.

Then it was off to get some rest.  I shut the TV off at 7:15 and we were all out!
Yesterday we headed to the Seattle Aquarium.  We had also never been here before, so it was fun for all of us.
The octopus was my favorite thing there!

We got to walk through the jellyfish.

The real coral reefs were also pretty amazing.

 The Dome.

We got to see harbor seals at the aquarium and in the wild while we ate our lunch on the pier.

Watching the diver feed the fish.
Then we headed across the pier to ride the carousel (and get cotton candy).
 Lunch at Red Robin.
Yummy chocolate milkshakes!

I'm gonna go ahead and say they had a great time!!
(I had a great time too!)
