I will give a full report in the next few days.

Where are u?

I'm sure you all are wondering where we are.  Well, I've been sick all week.  I have strep throat and feel like I've been hit by a bus.  I've never had mono, but I feel like I have it.  I am dead to the world.  I bought milk yesterday as soon as I dropped the kids off at school.  On my way back to pick them up, four hours later, I wondered, what is that rolling around in the back of the car?  Needless to say it was the two gallons of milk I had just bought and I don't mess around with dairy products.  I bought more milk and dumped the others out.  I banged my head against a door jamb picking up laundry yesterday too.  Either my head is still completely clogged up or I am having the dizziness side effect of my antibiotic, because when I came up from picking up the clothes I was completely off balance and my head hit the wood.  I'll admit it, I cried, it hurt that bad.  The kids have been almost perfect for me, so I'm rewarding them by buying them a new movie and a cupcake.  I am throwing a baby shower next weekend and haven't done a single thing for it.  I need to go place my order for the cupcakes and I figure they deserve it.  Today is Shawn's last day of hiking and I'm pretty sure he should be home tomorrow...although a few of the other wives thought they weren't coming home until Sunday, so we'll see.  What's one more day anyway:o)
I'll be sure to get some pictures up from my parents and brothers' visit when I can sit in this chair longer than five minutes!

RIde The Ducks Seattle

at Thursday, September 20, 2012

Thursday, September 20, 2012

We picked up my parents and brother at the airport Tuesday night and first thing Wednesday morning, we went to ride the ducks!  I've seen them every time we've went to Seattle and decided we needed to try them out.  It's a 90 minute ride, 60 on land and 30 in the water, and it was a lot of fun.

Our captain, Capt. Clem Chowder, wore many hats.  The Duck ride is pretty interactive too, so we sang and waved to people on the streets and there were plenty of times that Caleb could quack his quacker.

It was pretty chilly that morning and Amelia was a little cold....she fell asleep on Uncle Steven's shoulder and slept pretty much the entire ride.
We learned alot of interesting facts about the city and the best part is that I didn't have to drive and fight traffic.
We even got to see The Wizard, from Deadliest Catch.
This cute little houseboat was for sale for $149,000....we're thinking about buy it!

The Sleepless In Seattle house is the one at the far left with the red flowers hanging all around it.
Gas Works Park - seen in 10 Things I Hate About You.

 Foggy Seattle morning.
It was alot of fun and definitely a must if you come here.
Shawn heads out for his hike tomorrow and starts hiking Saturday morning.  We're praying for good weather, good physical and mental health and an awesome experience during those 93 miles!

The First Day of School

at Tuesday, September 11, 2012

Tuesday, September 11, 2012

Today was the first day of school!!
Both of them were so excited to head out the door this morning.
Caleb came in just as I had gotten out of the shower, at 6:50, and asked if it was time to go yet:o)

Amelia's even big enough to wear her own backpack.
She's now in the big kid class where they actually have planned activities and have to sit at a table and listen - no naps.  Since Mother's Day Out is at our church, she's used to going into this same classroom, with the same teachers, and she walked right in.
Caleb, looking like the little man he is, is now in the senior class of the school.  He walked right in, gave Miss Coco a hug, never said goodbye and acted like he never missed a day.

Caleb: 3 years and 10 months
Amelia: 1 year and 9 months

Seattle Sounders

at Sunday, September 09, 2012

Sunday, September 9, 2012

Yesterday, Shawn and I (my first MLS game) went to a Seattle Sounders soccer match.  We had a babysitter (for 10 hours - let's not get in to what that cost us:o) and we had the whole day to ourselves.  Our first stop, of course, was to buy t-shirts.  We couldn't go to the game and not wear something green!  Then we parked a couple of blocks away at the Coast Guard station - free for us...a plus!  Then walked to the game.  We decided to eat before sitting down.  Two, three piece fish and chips baskets, one 20oz. bottle of water, one 20oz. bottle of Coke and $30.00 later, we were sitting in our seats.  (I mean, how can they charge that much for food at these events?!)  It was an absolutely gorgeous day...79 degrees and sunny and we were ready for the game to start.  The Sounders fans are awesome!  I might just venture to say they have a bigger fan base than the Seahawks and the Mariners.  We had to stand the entire game because no one in front of us would sit down.

Here you can see exactly were our seats were.  Pretty much perfect!

 GOAL!

The Sounders won 2-1 and we had an awesome day!

Port Townsend Day

at Thursday, September 06, 2012

Thursday, September 6, 2012

I ran an errand early this morning and when I got home, I said, "It's  way too nice to stay home today.  Let's go to Port Townsend."  The kids and I walked on the ferry to spend the day across the water.
We shopped in all of the kid friendly shops.
We stopped to play at the park for a little bit.
We thought about taking a ride on this sail boat (they were offering rides for $20), but thought Dad might not like it if we went without him.
We ate lunch and went to some more stores.....then we stopped for ice cream before heading back to the ferry.

In all honesty, I didn't want to come back home.  It's 70 degrees, we're only a short drive into the Olympic Mountains and I have a backpack full of diapers, a change of clothes and snacks.  Again, dad might not like it much if we didn't come home, so we'll go back.

We made a little trip to the beach today.
I don't know why, but it's hard to resist taking these random peeing photos of Caleb.  I'm sure soon enough I'll realize it's inappropriate, but for now, I think it's funny.
Amelia always following in Caleb's footsteps.

She's starting to venture farther and farther away from the safety of my arms:o)
