Happy 12 years of marriage to us!
These past 12 years have brought more than either of us could have ever imagined.  There's no one else I'd rather do this life with!  Here's to another 12!

Amelia's First Haircut

at Friday, June 20, 2014

Friday, June 20, 2014

Amelia's been asking to get her hair cut for awhile now and daddy's been saying "no" for just as long.
He finally agreed that she could get "just a little bit" cut off and today was the day!
 She was pretty excited!

 Nothing too drastic.
We can just see her sweet face a little better now:o)
Caleb said we should just cut the hair on the sides so it would stay out of her face.  I said, "that's called a mullet!"

Last Day Of Soccer Camp

at Friday, June 20, 2014

Today was the last day of soccer camp.  Caleb loved every minute of it!
They had an obstacle course to run today.  He's bunny-hopping over the shirts.
Taking his ball around the cones.

 Tapping the ball 10 times.

Caleb giving Coach Rufus a high five!
 Getting his evaluation sheet.

He had a great week and I think soccer will be sticking around in this house!

Wacky Wednesday

at Wednesday, June 18, 2014

Wednesday, June 18, 2014

Today was Wacky Wednesday at soccer camp.  They were supposed to do their hair and dress weird.  Caleb got a new "summer" haircut yesterday, so we spiked it and sprayed some white hair color in it.  He was really hoping for another color, but thankfully, I picked up the white can instead of the red or blue.
(He would have just had red and blue running down his face, then getting all over his clothes and all over the car.  I am SO glad I grabbed white!)

Soccer Camp

Monday, June 16, 2014

Today was the first day of Caleb's soccer camp - Challenger British Soccer Camp.  His coach's name for the week is, Rufus and he is from Ireland.   We decided on the soccer camp since it only lasts this week.  We know that it's just going to get hotter and the thought of watching/playing soccer, in the heat, all summer long, didn't sound too fun.  I think we'll have to look for a fall league.
Doing a little warm up exercises - although was already about a billion degrees out at 9am, so I don't really think they needed to warm up.

He plays from 9-10:30 everyday this week.  He loved it and asked if we could go home and play some more soccer and then asked what they were going to do tomorrow.
Getting a little talk at the end of the day.
You can't tell it here, but his face was beat red, sweat dripping down his face, shirt and shorts soaked.  He ate 2 McDonald's apple pies (my weakness and it just happens to be next to the field), a package of cheese crackers, and drank an entire bottle of water.  Then, he asked if he could have "quiet time" when we got home.
I think he already loves soccer!
We'll be cheering on the USA tonight!

Father's Day Weekend

at Monday, June 16, 2014

Shawn's Father's Day weekend started on Friday, when we decided to tear out the old front porch and build a new one.  My job was to knock all of the nails down, so no one would step on them.  Well, I missed one and I stepped on it.  After a little blood and not knowing if my tetanus shots as up to date, we headed to urgent care.  I went in and they went to grab dinner until I call them.  An hour and a half later, I was told I had a tetanus shot in 2011 and to go home and soak it in salt water.
So, this is what I looked like on Saturday.  And, since we had to stop mid-tear out, that put us way behind.
Caleb and Amelia grabbed some nails and a few boards we didn't need and started hammering away.

Finally, the steps were screwed in and they would run up and down them.
They also played in the water, because, the southern summer heat is finally upon us and it's miserable.  We decided to see if we had any carrots growing under the dirt and guess what?  We do!  They're still too little to eat, but this one tasted pretty good.  Or, as Amelia screamed to Caleb, Caleb, try it!  It tastes like a carrot!
Shawn stopped a little early on Sunday so that we could try out the  fishing at Creekside Park.  We didn't have any luck and couldn't stand being in the sun anymore, so we headed to the Turtle Park where we caught a ton as soon as we got there.
 Happy Father's Day, Dad!
We love you!

Fishing and Swimming

at Friday, June 13, 2014

Friday, June 13, 2014

After church on Sunday, we headed to base to do a little fishing.
Dad caught a fish that growled like a dog.
(We're not sure what kind it was).
 Shawn caught a blue crab.

We the question of are there really alligators around here was answered.  Yes, that's an alligator in the water right in the center of the photo!
On Monday, we headed to the Turtle Park to feed the turtles and play on the playground.

We then realized that there were no signs saying we couldn't fish, so we headed to Walmart for worms and made our way back to do a little fishing.
Amelia caught the first (few) fish!

I thought this shirt was pretty fitting for the day :o)

Caleb giggled like a girl anytime anyone caught a fish.  He was so excited!
 Adarrah caught a catfish.
 I like this picture :o)

We went back again on Tuesday and Adarrah caught a little turtle.
They both wanted to touch the fish after anyone caught them.
I don't think it'll take Caleb too long before he's trying to take the fish off his hook.
I thought that I might have won the award for smallest fish ever caught, but we were all catching even smaller ones.  I didn't know that was possible.
Tuesday morning, we lazied around a bit.  They each had a Kindle to play with and this is how I found them before breakfast.
Then we headed to the community pool.
Adarrah went down the slide and I'm hoping that by the end of the summer, Caleb will want to do it too.

For now, they'll just stick to the frog slide.

Tuesday night, Mamaw planned a backyard treasure hunt.
They all ended up with a bag full of fun toys, including this flying chicken that stuck to the ceiling.
We had a great week and are so glad you came to visit us!  We can't wait to see you again!
