Kindergarten Christmas Party

Today was Caleb's class Christmas Party.
I think the kids had a lot of fun.  The pinned the Nose on Rudolph, made Magic Reindeer Food, decorated a cookie and made an ornament.
 Getting spun around:o)

After all that fun, they listened to a Christmas story.
Tomorrow is a half day and they get to wear their pajamas and watch Polar Express……and I heard that there might be a real train conductor coming to visit them!  After that, we'll jump in the car and start making our way north.  See you all soon!!

Preschool Christmas Program

at Thursday, December 18, 2014

Yesterday, was Amelia's Christmas program at school (also our church).  All of the classes got up there individually to sing their songs and recite a Bible verse.

That's a lot of preschoolers!  At the end, they ALL got up there to sing some songs.

I wish this picture wasn't so blurry, because she looks so excited to be up there!
After the program, it was off to the gym for a Happy Birthday, Jesus party, where there was cake and chips:o)

(If you want to see Amelia's class singing, you can check it out on my Facebook page.)

Today was Caleb's first field trip.
All three of the kindergarten classes went to the New Bern airport and sang Christmas songs for the arriving and departing passengers.

He was a little shy about all of the moves, but sang all of the songs.
Amelia was taking pictures for daddy to see:o)

It was pretty cute and there were lots of smiles from the passengers!

Busy Season

We had a busy weekend!
Shawn had to finish up a paper, so I kept the kids away while he worked.  We went to see the new Penguins of Madagascar movie on Friday.  Then on Saturday, we headed to Jacksonville to spend Caleb's Target card and go to Toys R Us so they could give me some Christmas ideas.  These kids only told me one thing they wanted prior.  Most kids have 50 things they want.  These kids just said, "I don't know".  So, we got some ideas and then headed to Cracker Barrel for lunch.  After that we came home and rested a bit.  Then it was off to a NO KIDS squadron party, where we didn't get the kids home and to bed until after 10!  Church on Sunday, a little rest, then off to the Trent Woods Christmas Parade (our neighborhood's big time, y'all).  Caleb's school had a bus in it, to Caleb got to ride the but and throw candy out the window.
Saturday it was like 70 degrees out.  This day, freezing!!!

Here comes the parade.
There were mini semi Shriners, regular car Shriners, Burnout Shriners….who knew there were so many Shriners.
 Caleb's bus!
Of course, he was on the other side.
I'm not sure what a Sweet Potato Queen is, but here they are.

I know these girls were freezing!
 Santa stand up paddle boarding.

 Who's that coming?!
 It's Santa!
After the parade, we went to paint an ornament.

Of course, Kidd's still doing funny things around the house.
Last night, Caleb wrote his letter to Santa.
Shawn said, "Not to be confused with the Santa who lives somewhere else."
He dropped it in the mail this morning before catching the bus.

Basketball Begins

Kidd tried to disguise himself as Olaf so that Amelia would take him to school!
We started a new tradition this year too.  It's called the Jesse Tree. I had never heard of it before a friend told me about theirs a couple of years ago.  It's basically an Advent Calendar and each day you put up a new ornament after reading the verse that goes with it.  You start at the bottom and work your way up to the top, with the birth of Jesus on Christmas day.
Caleb had his first basketball practice last night.  This kid just loves to play sports!

He could care less about practicing.  He just wants to play "other kids".
