Happy Halloween

There was another monkey sighting tonight. He ventured out of his usual habitat and into our neighborhood in search of more snacks. Sweeter snacks than a regular, old banana. And I think he was successful.

First up was our friend Jamie's house.

Ringing the doorbell like a seasoned veteran.

Are you sure about this, mom?

Thanks for the goodie bag, Jamie!
Let's try this again!
I'm not too sure about this house.
What do I eat first?!
Yummy Tootsie Pop!

Happy Halloween from our little monkey and growing pumpkin!

Waiting and Praying

at Saturday, October 30, 2010

Saturday, October 30, 2010

As a lot of you know, we are waiting to hear when, exactly, Shawn will be home. As of Thursday, it wasn't looking good. The maintainers (guys who fix the jets) still weren't in Qatar to fix the jet that was broken and he wasn't sure when they would get there. He said he would call me Friday to let me know if there was any new news. Friday came and went and now, so has Saturday. I talked to a girlfriend today that has been talking to some other of our squadron wives and has gathered a lot more GOOD info. There is talk that they will still be here Monday, but that it'll be later in the day now. And another wife just checked her bank account and there have been charges in Italy. So, it looks like the jet got fixed and they are on their way! We are praying that no more jets break, that there is good weather along the way and that we really do get to welcome Shawn home on Monday!!!

Monkeying Around

at Friday, October 29, 2010

Friday, October 29, 2010

Today was I able to photograph a monkey in his natural habitat.

Climbing trees.

Swinging through the air. Frolicking with other animals.

(I love how he's the only one sitting down while all the other kids are dancing:o)

Looking for a snack....yep, found my banana. Hanging out with momma monkey. And looking pretty cute while doing it all!

28 Week Check-Up

at Tuesday, October 26, 2010

Tuesday, October 26, 2010

Today I had an appointment with my doctor and a small bottle of an orange soda-like drink:o) Thankfully my sugar test was perfect and I don't have to do the dreadful three hour one, which I had to do with Caleb. I gained another 7 lbs in the last month. I don't feel like I'm eating that much, but obviously I am:o) I've gained 21 lbs. to date and I truly hope I don't gain another 20 lbs. by the end! (I'm not making any promises though:o). I gained 40 with the other 2 pregnancies, so I'll be happy if I can keep it under that this time. The baby's heartbeat was 150 and my blood pressure was perfect. My next appt. is November 15th, so Shawn will hopefully get to go with me. I'll be 31 weeks then. Dr. Joyner talked with me a bit about what I wanted to do for the rest of the pregnancy. I told him I was feeling more at ease this time around, but I also think that as I get farther along, I'll want more reassurance. He said if we want to do the weekly non-stress tests again, we'll do them. If I feel like just coming in once a week and hearing the heartbeat and seeing him will work, then we'll do that. If I feel comfortable seeing him every two weeks (like normal pregnancies) until 36 weeks and then every week - and if I don't feel right, then coming in - we'll do that. He left it pretty much up to us. He knows Shawn is coming home next week, so he said that we should talk about what we would be comfortable with and then let him know at the next appt. He also said that nothing is set in stone either. If we say we want to do one thing and then the next week we change our mind, that's fine too. We're really thankful we were placed with Dr. Joyner last time around, because we really don't know whether another doctor would be as understanding and sympathetic to our situation. Other than that, I am still feeling pretty good and getting more and more excited as I look at the calendar. January really isn't that far away!

Heat Wave

at Tuesday, October 26, 2010

Yes, it's the end of October, but it's 83 out today so we had to play outside. I realized my to-do list really isn't as detailed as I was making it out to be and I don't have that much left to do. So, with a week left, I think I'll stretch it out a bit. While Caleb is tormenting Wrigley...again, I think I'll read a bit on the back porch!

28 Weeks

at Sunday, October 24, 2010

Sunday, October 24, 2010

I am officially 28 weeks along. Which means I am officially 7 months. Which means I am officially in the third and last trimester!! I really can't believe I'm this far along already. Where has the time gone? When we found out in May that I was pregnant, January felt so far away. Now we only have a homecoming, Thanksgiving, and Christmas to prepare for before this baby arrives. I had a feeling this week would get away from me with all of the things that need to get done and I'd forget to take a belly photo, so you're getting it early. I am feeling pretty good. "She" (still no name:o) is moving around alot, which wakes me up in the middle of the night sometimes, but I wouldn't wish that away for anything. I have a doctor's appointment Tuesday and am anxious to hear her heartbeat and see what the doctor has planned for the last couple of months of pregnancy. When I ask Caleb what his sister's name is, he usually says "Caleb Capps". And grandma got him a big brother book, which he's had me read a million times, so maybe he's catching on. I think that once Shawn is here to enjoy these last couple of months - ok, maybe baby me a bit and take care of Caleb :o) - we'll all be alot happier!

What have we been doing?

at Thursday, October 21, 2010

Thursday, October 21, 2010

This week was our do nothing week. Next week, on the other hand, is our "do-everything-we-can-before-dad-gets-home" week!! We are getting so excited (I know I keep saying that, but it's true) and we've been practicing the hugs we're going to give him. I say, "show me how you're going to give daddy a hug when we go get him from the airplane" and he throws his arms around my neck and squeezes, as he also says "squeeze". I just hope he really does it when the day comes. How cute that will be!

But, while we've been waiting for next week to arrive this is pretty much what we've been up to....
reading and reading........ ....and reading some more...... .....and watching Sesame Street or the Sprout channel......
(yes he always sits with his hands on his knees when he's watching tv)
.....acting like a 2 year old:o).....
and getting so excited for dad to come home!

Scar Hurts

at Tuesday, October 19, 2010

Tuesday, October 19, 2010

Caleb : (Touching his head) Head hurts.
Mom: Let's put medicine on it so it'll feel better. (Mederma - not really helping it feel better:o)
Caleb: Kisses and Jesus make it better.
Mom: Yep, Jesus will make it better (as I also kiss it)

He is so cute!

Pumpkin bread
Pumpkins in a dump truck

In case you forgot what it looked like 17 days ago...
And this is what it looks like today! We're getting so close!

What a great thought!

Another Week Down

at Friday, October 15, 2010

Friday, October 15, 2010

I'm really not counting the weekends as part of the week, so I'm saying we're another week down! All we have to do is get through next week.....then the following week is definitely countdown/last minute cleaning/massive grocery shopping week!!
Yesterday we didn't do much, but watch daddy read Caleb books over and over and over again:o) It's so cute how excited he gets just to see him on the screen.

Watching intently.

And still...more, more more!

Pump It Up also offered one hour free for all military, so we had to go to that! We had never been there before and anytime we've been somewhere with a bouncy house, Caleb has never wanted to get in. So, me being the sensitive mom that I am, drug him in them! And what do you know, he like it! I think his favorit was the slide. The only bad thing was that he couldn't really pull himself up the stairs, so I had to carry him up them. I only did that twice before our friend, Chris (who just got home - The Larson Family), decided to help me out.

We will definitely be going back when dad gets home!
