We ventured out in the rain to Coupeville for their annual Torchlight Parade on Saturday night. We did it last year and it was alot of fun. I think the rain kept a lot of the people away, but we were bound and determined to get dressed up and get some candy. Usually the firemen come, hand out flashlights and lead the way for all the children, but they were called out as soon as they arrived, so there were no flashlights, no sirens and the parade happened a little to quickly for us. We pretty much missed it all and they only got 2 pieces of candy:o) They didn't care though. They got to play in their costumes and that's all they wanted.
Caleb has been talking about being a dragon for a really long time (and his birthday party is a dragon theme). I'm not really sure where this came from, but I just happened to be walking through Old Navy and saw a dragon! What luck! I grabbed it off the hanger and now we have a dragon.
Amelia is obsessed with puppies! If she sees one, she will scream puppy until you acknowledge she saw one and then she will continue to say puppy until you scream at her raise your voice and tell her, "yes, I saw the puppy". So that was pretty much the only option for her costume:o)
Some of our friends met us there....Emma was Cat In The Hat and her mom and dad were Thing 1 and Thing 2 and her baby sister was Sally. Pretty cute and Amelia loves Emma. She goes around the house asking for her and says Emma perfectly.
As you can see we were the only ones in the street still seeking out the candy. (And she couldn't stand the puppy ears and pulled them off almost immediately.)
Yeah, they found some!
They are pretty excited to go house to house on Wednesday. Let's hope they get more than 2 pieces of candy.....mom needs some Halloween candy!
