INDIANA CHRISTMAS 2012

We were able to enjoy a long visit to Indiana for Christmas this year.  Just a couple of days after arriving, Shawn, his dad and Caleb headed to the woods to camp, fish and fire some guns.
I love Caleb's little giggle in this video!
We celebrated Amelia's 2nd birthday with a puppy dog theme.

I love this face!
All loaded down with a tiara, two purses and a bracelet.
We celebrated with my family on Christmas Eve morning.
Then Christmas Eve night it was off to my aunt's.  Santa always makes an appearance (he's been doing it since I was a kid!).
Caleb wanted to watch him from the safety of the stairs.  He's still not to excited about the guy (but loves the presents he brings:o)  Maybe next year he'll like him better.
Christmas morning, we went to Shawn's house.  The hit toy of the day, a cap gun.

Then it was off to Shawn's grandparents house.  We will have three  new babies in the family in the next couple of months.  Our two sister-in-laws and a cousin are all having boys!
The day after Christmas we were hit with a blizzard.

And the day after that, we got out to play in it!

Caleb's attempt at making a snow angel.
They made a fort with a tunnel.
Shawn, Caleb and Shawn's brothers, Cody and Drew.
My mom always has fun food crafts for the kids.  Here they are waiting patiently for their instructions (as they rub butter into their hands).
A caterpillar....at least that's what they were trying to make.  They didn't care, they just wanted to eat it.
My cousin, Ashley, gave Shawn and I tickets for the Colts vs. Texans game.  It was my first time in the new stadium and it was impressive!  And the Colts won, so that was even better.

We were all ready to get home.  Towards the end of our visit Caleb even started asking, how many more days until we go back to Washington.  We arrived home to NO HEAT!!!  So, we got a fire going, cranked up the oven, blocked off the entrances to the kitchen (to keep the heat in the back part of the house) and within a few hours we got it working again and were able to relax.  The kids were excited to play with all of the toys Santa brought them before we left.  We're ready to get back to our old routine and are so glad we got to have such a long great visit with family!
Happy New Year!

Amelia's 2 Year Check Up

Sweet Amelia!
It's so hard to believe that you are already 2!
She is growing like a weed....:o)
She now weighs 22.2 pounds (3rd percentile) and is just over 32 inches tall.
She talks constantly, loves babies and puppies, makes the funniest faces and makes us laugh all of the time.  She is such a blessing to our family!

She loves following her brother around and doing the things he's doing.  She's going to give him a run for his money one of these days.

We love you so much Amelia and can't wait to see how you grow this next year!

Back Home Again In Indiana

We have been having lots of fun in Indiana.  We've already had Amelia's birthday party and the kids had a great, but busy, Christmas.  Today we are enduring Euclid,  Indiana's 2012 Blizzard.  If my camera was here I could update you with all of the fun we are having.  Shawn, in his craziness, decided to walk to his parents house from my parents' house....so maybe he'll bring my camera back to me.
I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas!

Christmas Day at The Capps House

at Saturday, December 15, 2012

Saturday, December 15, 2012

Christmas came early to The Capps house this morning.  I think Amelia and Caleb both knew something was up.  Amelia woke up at 3:00 and really never went back to sleep (even after putting her in bed with us - which meant we didn't go back to sleep either).  And Caleb came into our room at 6:01.  So, we sent Caleb downstairs to "watch some cartoons" and this is what he found...
(Kidd holding the flashlight on the stop sign)
(Well, I got one of my videos to work, but none of the others...I'll keep trying.)

Tomorrow we head to Seattle for the night and we'll catch our plane to Indiana Monday morning.  I think we all got the presents we wanted, so now we're wishing for a little snow:o)

Dragons and Trains

Kidd set up the train track and then had dragons and dinosaurs invade it!  It looks like he had a lot of fun setting this all up:o)

Ahh, Bite!

Kidd didn't get into too much trouble last night.  He just did a little sledding down the stairs.
Our nightly ritual has become wrestling before bed.  Caleb has a ton of energy and wrestling is good for him! Amelia has started getting into it too and instead of saying fight she says bite!  Caleb spilled water on his shirt, so we took it off.  She then ran over to me and told me to take hers off.  The good thing was, even when Caleb knocked her down, she just giggled and got back up.
(And yes, he did hit his mouth on Shawn's boot, but only a few tears were shed:o)

Return to Sender

I guess Kidd thought Woody was defective and needed to be sent back to the North Pole.
(Caleb said, Mom look what Kidd is doing.  Who's it for?  It doesn't have my name on it.)

Hostage

Tired of his nightly escapades, the Nutcrackers said No More and took him hostage for the night.

Mom, that elf made me a picture!
(I like that he said that elf and not Kidd)
Caleb made me come downstairs to see the orange tree.  I wasn't sure what the orange tree was, but he directed me to the mistletoe so he could give me a kiss.  He's kind of into it and is sure to give anyone a kiss who is near it.  Such a sweet boy!
