Trick or Treat!!
It was a gorgeous, fall night on Whidbey Island.  Perfect for getting bags full of candy....that mom will pick through later and keep the best ones for herself
Checking out their stash when we got home.
At one of the houses, Caleb yelled out, "I love to go trick or treating!!"  And then ran on to the next one:o)

Amelia was pretty excited about e-v-e-r-y piece she picked up!
Happy Halloween!

Today was the perfect day for some hot cocoa (with lots of marshmallows) and playing in the leaves!

Coupeville's Halloween Parade

at Saturday, October 26, 2013

Saturday, October 26, 2013

Tonight was the annual Halloween parade in Coupeville.
The weather was great and we got there early enough for free flashlights from the firemen.
The Plot's dressed up as a family as the Ghostbusters.  Emma was a ghost and Sophie was Slimer.

The crowd was huge this year.

 Trick or Treat!
Do you see the little boy with the balloons?  If you've seen the movie UP, then you will know he is supposed to be the old man!  Such a cute idea!

 Arrggggg!
One last look back from Minnie.

Start to the Weekend

at Saturday, October 26, 2013

The fog has been ridiculous around here.  I even saw that we made the national news about it!
After driving an hour, we made it through and the sun shone bright and warm.....and then we had to drive back into it to get home:o(
Caleb and Amelia got lots of goodies from all the Grannies a couple of days ago.  They got to make fall crafts and...

...make Rice Krispy pumpkins.

Amelia decided they were too messy and didn't even eat them.
Caleb, however, devoured one and I had to stop him before he ate the other one.
Last night, we made carmel apples.
He's thinking about how to eat this.
I guess little bites are the way to go.
Again, too messy for Amelia.
They've been playing a lot with their friends next door.  It's so cute to have these little girls come to the door and ask if Caleb and Amelia can come out to play.
Yesterday, they rode bikes and raked leaves.  I hope they have lots of friends near our new house in NC.

Tonight we have the annual Coupeville Torchlight (Halloween) Parade.  The kids are pretty excited about wearing their costumes!

Tree Skirt Finished - Check!

Thursday, October 24, 2013

Yes, I'm still up at 11:45.
I didn't feel like stopping once I started and most importantly, I didn't feel like working on it anymore:o)  The binding turned out to be much harder than I expected and I'm not super happy with it, but I did it!  My Christmas tree skirt is finally finished!
(Just in time for us to move and not even put up a tree this year:o)

Ft. Ebey Camping

Sunday, October 20, 2013

Shawn's getting ready to head to El Centro this week and by the time he gets back we'll be into the rainy season/moving-mode, so we decided to make the most of the weekend and go camping!
Shawn and Caleb took the camper down Thursday night (then came back Friday for work and school) and then we all headed down Friday night.
Amelia literally rode her bike ALL weekend.
(I hate to say it, but I think she'll have her training wheels off before Caleb:o)

Playing in the fire, as usual.
Took a short bike ride to the bluff and this all we could see.

 Caleb throwing a fit.
 Climbing down the hole.
Our friends, The Plot's, came down for the afternoon on Saturday.

 Digging the Gatorade mustache.
We're going to miss camping in Washington.  Time to start looking for good spots in "Carolina", as the kids call it.

Capps House Happenings

Ahh, signs of moving preparations....the swing set is down.
After school hike at Fort Ebey.

 Leading as usual.

The mushrooms are out in full force around here.

 Kind of cross-eyed.
Saturday, we were supposed to have "professional" family photos taken.  That, however, did not happen and I, in my already, ready state, decided to get everyone else dressed, pack the camera with only a 20% battery life left and head to Fort Casey. The outcome wasn't great.  We'll try again...
