33 Week Check Up

at Monday, November 29, 2010

Monday, November 29, 2010

Shawn and I went in for an ultrasound this morning and left with a great report. She was moving around alot and we got to actually see her trying to kick out the side of my belly. She is already head down and weighs 4.3 lbs. The ultrasound tech said that if she gains weight (1/2 lb. a week) like she should and is born at 38 weeks like Caleb, she will be about 1 lb. less than he did. So, she's petite like me:o) She also pointed out that she could see that she has hair. I didn't know you could see that on a regular ultrasound, but she said it was there. She's not sure how much she has, but she does have a tuft of hair on the top. Now we'll have somewhere to put the bows! My next appointment is on December 14th and I'll be 35 weeks. I feel like this pregnancy has gone by so fast. And for those of you who missed the big "baby girl name announcement", her name is Amelia Grace.

Thanksgiving Week

at Monday, November 29, 2010

Now that the hustle and bustle of the week is over and all of our guests have gone, I can update the blog with all of the fun things we did. We are always so thankful that family is willing to make the long drive to spend time with us. The weather was pretty much perfect the whole week and we were able to get out and enjoy it.
On Wednesday we went to the beach and played in the sand, picked up shells and got a little football practice in.
Man, my belly's getting big!
Then we came back and Caleb got to open a few more birthday presents.
After that, we sat around the fire and roasted the biggest marshmellows you've ever seen.Thanksgiving morning the guys played in the 2nd Annual Thanksgiving Day Football Game. Our family was dressed and ready to play in our Colts gear. They played against all of Shawn's squadron buddies. After last years game, everyone was looking forward to this years game. It's sad that most of us won't be here to play in it again next year. Maybe we'll have to start this tradition in Washington.

Then we came back and got to cooking the rest of our Thanksgiving dinner.Shawn carved up our two turkey breasts. And since we didn't think that would be enough, we also fried a whole turkey later that day.

Over the next couple of days, we walked around downtown New Bern, ate at a new restaurant on the water and relaxed with family. We put up our Christmas decorations and let Caleb put the angel on the tree.

Now we can relax a little bit this week....who am I kidding.....now we have to get to Christmas shopping! A family friendly baby shower awaits us this weekend. We need to wash baby clothes and buy anything else we need to get ready for her. Move Caleb's furniture into Amelia's room. Get Caleb used to his big boy bed. Decided whether or not we want to rent or sell our house.......then have a baby......the list could go on! I think I'll stick to relaxing for now.

Pre-Thanksgiving Weekend

at Sunday, November 21, 2010

Sunday, November 21, 2010

We couldn't have asked for better weather this weekend and made sure we got out to enjoy it. Friday night we ventured out for dinner at Outback. Saturday morning we got all dressed up and set out to take our Christmas card photos. It went pretty well until Caleb saw the geese at the pond and that's all he could think about. We got our cards made up - one less thing to worry about as we head into the holiday season - and then focused on the house. We have family coming in, beginning tomorrow, and had a lot to do. Not only did we clean the house, but we also ordered Caleb new "big boy" furniture and cleaned out baby -----'s closet to get ready for new things. :o) Sunday we headed to church and afterwards dad and Caleb went to Lowe's, while mom went to Walmart (big mistake!) for some groceries. We are excited to have family with us for Thanksgiving and are really looking forward to the week ahead.
Here's a couple of photos I liked from the photo shoot.

24 Month Check Up

at Thursday, November 18, 2010

Thursday, November 18, 2010

This morning we went in for Caleb's 2 year check up. I was surprised to find out that he didn't have to get any immunizations today and won't until he's 4. He is a 1/4" shy of 3 feet tall, which is in the 90th percentile for his age. And he weighs 31lbs, which is in the 80th percentile. The doctor said she won't need to see him back again until he's 3. The whole time we were in the doctor's office he kept saying, "all done". I guess he didn't really want to be there.
So afterwards, we took some bread downtown to feed the ducks. But as you can see in the photos, they were overrun by the seagulls and pigeons. You can't beat North Carolina weather this time of year and I'm sure we'll be taking advantage of it this weekend.

20 Week Ultrasound Pictures

at Tuesday, November 16, 2010

Tuesday, November 16, 2010

Shawn's aunt informed me tonight that I never put any ultrasound photos on the blog. What?! I can't believe I forgot to do that! I think it was because we were waiting to find out the sex and our ultrasound tech told me not to look at the disc until we found out. After the excitement of reading "It's A Girl" I totally forgot to show you photos of her. So, even though they're about 12 or 13 weeks late, here they are.
She also put a few short videos on the disc for us. This is my favorite one.

31 Weeks

at Tuesday, November 16, 2010

I had a doctor's appointment yesterday. It's hard to believe that I'll be 32 weeks next week, which is 8 baby months! He is going to give us an ultrasound at our next appointment (Nov. 29th), just to make sure everything looks good with our baby girl.......which, by the way, DOES have a name! But, you know us. We can't just announce it, we have to do it in a creative way. So, you should be finding out her name very soon:o) Her heartrate was 148 and she is moving and kicking me all of the time. I am feeling good, but am finding it harder to do things on the floor with Caleb. Good thing dad is home! At our next post, you should have another belly photo and hopefully a few ultrasound photos.

"CONSTRUCTION ZONE"

at Saturday, November 13, 2010

Saturday, November 13, 2010

Hardhats and safety vests were required at Caleb's birthday party today.
There were construction cones that provided sweet drinks and a dump truck cake.
LOTS of cars and trucks seemed to be the gift of choice and Caleb couldn't have been happier.
He wasn't too sure about everyone singing to him.

We can't believe Caleb will be 2 years old tomorrow!

A Day By The Water

at Thursday, November 11, 2010

Thursday, November 11, 2010

We spent a gorgeous morning by the water in Beaufort, eating "doduts", going to "more stores" and finally visiting the fish Caleb so loves at Walmart as we gathered the last of the birthday party items for Saturday's party.

Curious George

at Wednesday, November 10, 2010

Wednesday, November 10, 2010

Daddy put on a movie for us to relax to tonight....Curious George. And you all know how much I love monkeys?
Then we decided it would be more fun watching it if I was dressed like one!
Curious George can get into trouble sometimes too.

I love watching these guys enjoy their time together!
