Last night was Caleb's first baseball game of the season.
 He was very excited!
He got a base hit on his first at bat, stole 2nd, then 3rd, then scored a run!!
He will have 2 games a week, so this is where you'll find us for awhile.

Sunday morning we headed back into the park and turned south into Sequoia National Park.

We stopped at the Giant Tree Museum first.

Then we headed to Moro Rock.
There are 350 steps to get to the top, which sits at an elevation of 6,725 ft.  Thankfully, the road wasn't closed so we didn't have to hike to the rock and then climb it!
I'll be honest, as much as I wanted to make it to the top, I wasn't sure if I'd be able to.  As long as I didn't look down as I was climbing, I was ok.

Most of the path and stairways were narrow, only 1 person at a time could make it.  We had to duck to get under this rock.
And even though there was railing on most of it, some parts only had these rocks keeping you from falling.  Most of which, were only to Shawn's knees.

We finally made it to the top and it was worth it!!

After enjoying the view for a bit, we began making our way back down.

We hopped back in the car and headed to Tunnel Log, but found an awesome grove of trees we just had to get out and explore.

It is just amazing to me how huge these trees are.

Look at how big this know on the side of the tree is!

After that we were excited to drive through a tree.

 We even climbed it too.

We then headed to the General Sherman Tree.
(By volume, it is the largest known living single stem tree on Earth.)
If you click on the picture with the tree information, you should be able to read all about it.
From this spot you could see the tree from it's base all the way to the top.  It was the only spot on this trail where you could see it in it's entirety.

The kids are climbing on one of General Sherman's branches that broke off in 2006.  It is larger than most tree trunks.
There was another tree they carved a tunnel in here too.  Look at the crack to the right of Amelia!

We had seen all we had planned for our trip.  Shawn and I would have loved to have hiked a little more, but the kids were tired and it was pretty chilly that day.

We got back to the cabin in time to play in the fire outside a bit, build a fire inside and relax before bed.

It was a short weekend, but worth the drive to see that amazing place!  Another great family adventure in the books!
