Memorial Day Weekend

Saturday morning we headed to the Outer Banks for a little beach camping.

The sand dunes along the way were pretty cool to look at.
This is the campground, I mean RV resort, we stayed at.  This place had it all - family activities, playground, tennis courts, three pools, hot tub, wifi, cable, etc.  They had everything, but trees.
There were some pretty serious rvs there too.  Our's looked tiny compared to all of them.
The people next to us pretty much watched TV the entire weekend.  They even watched the Indy 500, but we decided to listen to it on the radio instead - kind of like the old days:o)
Some of our friends were there too, although we weren't camping next to them.  Digging in a hole.

Luckily this momma is smart and I took jackets for everyone.  We thought it would be sweltering out there, but it was just the opposite.  It was perfect weather the entire weekend.
One of our friends even went to IU.  The other side is Florida Gators, for his wife.
We splurged on the SportBrella and love it!  I hope it lasts the entire summer.

 Digging more holes.

We took a couple of bike rides outside of the campground and this day just happened to be pretty warm, so we needed ice cream when we got back.
They had a Memorial Day golf cart/bicycle parade on Sunday.
Shooting the bow and arrow.  This was a really cool toy!
(Thanks Grannies - we're just now using it).

We played soccer, threw the frisbee and football lots this weekend.

They had karaoke and a campfire for smore's this night.
On Memorial Day, we took a break from the beach and headed in to Kitty Hawk.

 Amelia and Amelia.

Watching a little plane land on the runway behind them

This was the warmest day of the weekend, but we decided to walk up to the monument anyway.

On the way home we stopped to get some pictures of the inn from Nights of Rodanthe.  It used to be sitting out in the water, but has been recently moved to safer ground.
After we got back, we headed back out to the beach.
Since it was Monday, the campground had cleared out by the end of the day.
We got lots of glow in the dark items, but never really stayed up late enough to enjoy them.
Amelia and I had a little dance party in the camper while the guys got their showers.

Tuesday morning we had some entertainment before heading out.  There was a hole just outside our camper, but never anything in it. I guess this crab decided to make it it's home.  It would go down in it and then come back up pulling out sand in it's claws.
We made it home in time for Caleb to pull his third tooth...
…and for his last T-ball game.

We had a great weekend!!

Eight months ago, Amelia started her first day of preschool.

Today was Amelia's last day of school!

She is definitely going to miss her teachers and her friends, but we are looking forward to lots of fun this summer!!
