A couple weekends ago, we headed to the capital city of Naha to see the 10,000 Eisa Dancer festival.  We parked outside of the city and took the train into the city.  We picked a restaurant to eat at as soon as we got there.
We ate at Raja Indian food.  It was delicious!
We then walked around before the parade started.

 Habu Sake

Soon the dancers began.  They performed dances all while beating their drums.
It is a form of folk dance originating from the Okinawa Islands.  In origin, it is a Bon dance that is performed by young people to each community during the Bon festival to honor the spirits of their ancestors (wikipedia).

The kids were pretty amazing despite how hot it was.  They even had people on the side spraying them with water while they were dancing.

It was a great festival to experience and I'm glad we were able to see it!
